Armenian Ministers speak about multi-vectored foreign policy at NATO seminar in Yerevan.

Armenia pursues a multi vectored foreign policy which is in accordance with Armenia's national interests. This was the message of Armenian Ministers to participants of the 89th Rose-Roth Seminar, organized by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly , which opened in the Armenian Capital, Yerevan, on Thursday, 18 June. Members of Parliament from NATO member states and Partnership for Peace countries, as well as experts and NGO activists are participating in the meeting.

In his opening keynote address, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian highlighted the fact that the Minsk group was the sole international mechanism mandated to find a solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh process, and that other international actors should limit themselves to expressing support for this process. Nalbandian said that it was unacceptable that some NATO texts related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict differed in their terminology from those of the three co-Chair countries of the Minsk Group.

These views were echoed in the afternoon when Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan addressed the meeting.

Ohanyan also praised Armenia's relations with NATO, and said that his country despite being a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation co-operated with NATO on multiple programmes.

The seminar is expected to finish on Saturday.
