Armenia to come to rescue for the quake-stricken areas of Turkey

According to the official web-site of Armenia's Emergency Ministry, today Oct 27 Armenia received a relevant official request from Turkey via the Red Crescent and the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center.

Today evening the Ministry will send an IL-76 with 40 tons of humanitarian cargo to Ismir. The cargo includes tents, blankets, sleeping bags.

A 7.2-point earthquake struck the Turkish province of Van Oct 23, claiming some 500-1,000 lives.
