9 January: US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns is due to visit Ankara today for talks with Turkish officials. Burns will spend 30 hours in Turkey, having talks with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirl

 

 Burns' visit to Ankara comes following Davutoğlu's talks with top Iranian officials in Tehran last week.
