3 November: Russia reached an agreement with Georgia on a bilateral deal late Wednesday night that paves the way for its much anticipated entry into the World Trade Organization (The Moscow Times)

Tbilisi had been demanding international monitoring of cross-border trade in its Russian-backed breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The agreement was brokered by Switzerland after long negotiations.
