As European Union leaders reflect on the results of last week's Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw they may justifiable be wondering if their guests from the east had acted like difficult neighbours, of if they were just good friends giving frank and honest advice.

Todays Zaman “Overall, the economy expanded rapidly in 2010 and in the first quarter of 2011, mainly driven by strong domestic demand,” said the draft. Despite the strong showings of the Turkish economy, the draft says Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) per inhabitant stands at 48 percent of the EU average in 2010.

SUCCESSFUL....BUT NOT QUITE HISTORIC. The Warsaw summit charted a way forward in relations, but also highlighted key differences in approach.

The EU Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw has ended successfully. It has charted a way forward for developing relations between the EU and its six Eastern neighbours. It also highlighted important differences in approach to a number of key problems - obstacles that will need to be overcome if this relationship is to be really meaningful.
