SUCCESSFUL....BUT NOT QUITE HISTORIC. The Warsaw summit charted a way forward in relations, but also highlighted key differences in approach.

The EU Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw has ended successfully. It has charted a way forward for developing relations between the EU and its six Eastern neighbours. It also highlighted important differences in approach to a number of key problems - obstacles that will need to be overcome if this relationship is to be really meaningful.

Political problems in Belarus and Ukraine have dominated discussions in the run up to the Summit which opened last night. Leaders of the three South Caucasus countries are in Poland for the event which is also attended by major European Leaders
