Polish man killed by a bear in Armenia

A 35 year old Polish man was killed when he was attacked by a bear whilst climbing Mount Aragots in Armenia.

Armenian media reports that the emergency services received a 911 call from another Polish person who was with the deceased, informing that she and her friend had climbed Mount Aragats where, however, they were attacked by a bear, her friend was wounded, and rescuers' assistance was needed.

A rescue squad and a special rescue team from Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. The victim of the bear attack was pronounced dead half an hour after the arrival of the team.
