The new European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, on Friday (1 December) payed his first call on the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan. Klaar was formally appointed to the post last month, succeeding outgoing special envoy, Herbert Salber.
The website of the Armenian President said that President Sargsyan welcomed Toivo Klaar and expressed hope that he will contribute to the process of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict spearheaded by the OSCE Minsk process, as well to bilateral EU-Armenian relations.
Armenian Foreign Minister, Eduard Nalbandian, the Head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski, and the Political Advisor in the office of EUSR Klarr, Torsten Ahren were also present.
