Miners in manganese mines in Georgia's Chiatura region went on strike Thursday, demanding an increase in salaries and improved working conditions.
On Friday morning the workers gathered in front of the mine company offices. Discussions with the management are ongoing, but no deal has so far been reached. There was no work in the mines overnight, and reports say that all workers are on strike.
