European envoy discusses Karabakh issue with Azerbaijani leader

The European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, on Thursday (13 February) met in Baku with Azerbaijani president, Ilham Aliyev.

A report on the website of the Azerbaijani president's office said that the two sides discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and conflict settlement process. They also touched on the importance of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU as well as other bilateral issues.

The head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas attended the meeting.

Toivo Klaar is expected to hold discussions with other Azerbaijani officials and personalities during his stay in Baku.
