Azerbaijan reports one fatality; says Armenian forces shell civilian targets

Azerbaijan on Sunday (30 July) reported that one of its soldiers had been killed overnight. The deceased was named as Husseyn Zakir Akberli from the village of Echara, in Azerbaijan's Jalilabad district.

Trend News Agency quoted the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence as saying that the villages of Bala Jafarli, Gushchu Ayrim in the Gazakh district, the village of Kokhnegishlag in the Agstafa district and the village of Garalar in the Tovuz district were subjected to intensive shelling from large-caliber weapons by the Armenian armed forces. Other sources say that civilian targets in the villages were hit and the incident resulted in the killing of Akberli.

Earlier, Armenian souces had reported that on Friday,An Armenian serviceman was wounded in fire from Azerbaijani side near the Tavush region.
