German and Russian foreign ministers discuss Karabakh

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, at the latter's initiative, on Thursday, 5 November

Among the topics discussed was the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In a read out of the call on the website of the Russian foreign ministry it was stated that the two ministers reaffermed "the need to implement the agreements fixed in the Moscow statement by the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia dated October 10, 2020 as soon as possible."

Germany currently holds the presidency of the European Union.
