US State Department slams human rights record in Armenia and Azerbaijan, in its 2016 report

The report, published on Friday, 3 March, carries an introduction by the new US Secretary of State, Roy Tillerson, in which he says that "the Department of State hopes these reports will help other governments, civil society leaders, activists, and individuals reflect on the situation of human rights in their respective countries and work to promote accountability for violations and abuses."

EU calls for an early political settlement of the Karabakh conflict based on international law.

Speaking at a press brieifng after meeting the Armenian President in Brussels , EU Council President Donald Tusk spoke on the Karabakh conflict, saying, "the status quo is unsustainable. The conflict needs an early political settlement in accordance with international law. It does not have a military solution."
