Serzh Sargsyan: "With our example we have shown that co-operation between EU and EEU is possible"

Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan has summed up the results of his visit to Brussels this week in an interview with the pan-European channel, Euronews.

Sargsyan told the channel's Brussels correspondent that much of the political content that was envisaged in the previously aborted Association Agreement has now been included in the new framework agreement, but that the economic content has now to take into account the fact that Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. President Sargsyan said "with our own example we have shown that co-operation between the EU and the EEU is possible". "We can be a friendly and predictable neighbour for Europeans", the president added.

The Armenian President also said that during his visit to Brussels he had met with the Secretary General of NATO, and invited him to visit Yerevan. The President said that Armenia sees its membership of NATO's "partnership for peace" and its alliance with Russia as being complimentary.

Speaking about domestic issues, the Armenian leader said that soon Armenia is going to be a very desirable country for every Armenian.
