Current president Nikolas Sarkozy voted this morning in Paris, whilst the Socialist contender Francois Hollande voted in his constituency in the South West of France
6 May: 71.96% of the electorate in today's Presidential elections in France had voted by 5.00 p.m. Paris time, more than by the same time in the first round of the elections two weeks ago. Voting will finish in France in two hours time.
