Russian Defence Minister in Baku

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu was expected in Baku on Sunday evening at the start of a short visit to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani media are reporting the visit but giving no information.

Commonspace.eu however understands that the visit is a follow up on discussions that Russian president Vladimir Putin had in Baku last week with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliev. Putin met his national Security Council on Thursday during which a number of follow-up actions were decided.
