The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Brussels on Tuesday evening (11 July) under the auspices of the co-Chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group countries (France, Russia and the United States).
According to diplomatic sources the main discussion focused on preparations for a a summit between the Presidents of the two countries. It is understood that the Minsk Group diplomats presented their suggestions to the two foreign ministers. It was agreed that a further round of discussions will take place in September on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
The last meeting between president Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia, focusing on ways to move forward a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was held in St Petersburg in June 2016.
