Kadyrov in Baku, meets Aliyev (updated)

(Updated) Azerbaijan president Ilham Aliyev hailed historic relations between the Azerbaijani and Chechen people on Tuesday (27 November) when he met in Baku with visiting Chechen president Ramazan Kadyrov and his delegation. Aliyev said that  stability and security, development in the Caucasus is possible only through joint efforts.

During the meeting Kadyrov announced that a garden named after former Azerbaijan president Heidar Aliyev was being prepared in Grozny. Kadyrov siad that heidar Aliyev had supported the Checehn people during the most difficult moments of their recent history. He inivted president Ilham Aliyev to visit grozny and inaugurate the garden. President Aliyev accepted the inivtation/

Ramazan Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic on Tuesday (27 November) met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Kadyrov accompanied by a delegation was shown meeting president Aliyev and other senior Azerbaijani officials in a picture on the presidential website. The Chairman of the Board of Muslims of the Caucasus also attended the meeting. No information on the purpose of the visit is available as yet.
