Azerbaijani President meets with Minsk Group diplomats

Diplomats representing the three co-chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Group are continuing their visit to the South Caucasus, and are currently in Baku.

On Monday they met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Ambassadors Stephane Visconti (France)  Igor Popov (Russia), and Richard Hoagland (United States) last week also visited Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. During the visit to the region they are accompanied by the Special Representative of the Austrian Chairmanship of the OSCE, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.

Today (10 October), the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado for the Nobel Peace Prize. In the speech, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said that “she won for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”. Machado was among 338 nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize and has become its 20th female laureate.
