Georgian wrestler defeats Russian opponent in Warsaw

A Georgian wrestler Nugzar Tsurtsumia defeated his Russian rival Elchiv Ibragimov at the wrestling championship in Poland on Saturday.

Tsurtsumia, who is a Greco-Roman style wrestler, has won gold in the 55kg category in the Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski & Poland Open held in Warsaw on August 2-4.

Earlier this year Tsurtsumia won gold in the U23 European Championship in Serbia. Last year he became the victor of the Greco-Roman wrestling world championship.

In recent years he has won gold in the 50kg category in Junior European Wrestling Championships in Romania, as well as the Austrian Open tournament.
