EU to allocate additional 23.3 mln EUR to support civil society organizations in Eastern Partnership countries

Yerevan, December 1, ArmInfo.

The European Union will allocate additional 45.3 mln EUR to the Civil Society Facility of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries for 2012-2013. This decision has been approved by the European Commission.  

23.3 mln EUR of this amount will be spent on development of civil societies in 6 countries of Eastern Partnership - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus. To remind, the European Union set up the Civil Society Facility to provide funding for non-state actors in its Neighbourhood Partners to reinforce the role of civil society across the region.
