The co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Process are currently in the South Caucasus. On Monday they met in Baku with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev, and later also met the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Defence.
It is understood that the co-Chair made strong representations to the Azerbaijani side following a sharp increase in violence on the line of contact during the month of January. The Azerbaijani side said that during the meeting with the Foreign Minister the sides discussed an action plan for the implementation of the drafting of a comprehsensive peace agreement. The diplomats from Russia, France and the United States are now expected to travel to Yerevan for meetings with the Armenian leasdership
