Seven Armenians kidnapped in Aleppo and local Armenian Church burnt

The situation is growing too tense in Aleppo that is densely populated with Armenians.

Press Secretary of the Berio Diocese of Armenian Apostolic Church in Aleppo Zhirayr Reisian told ArmInfo that rebels kidnapped 10 people, including 7 Armenians and 3 Christian Arabs. By unofficial data, oppositionists demand the government troops to set free 150 captive rebels in exchange for the hostages. In addition, Reisian said that rebels burnt the local Armenian Church St. Gevorg on October 29 and the Mesropyan Seminary with local kindergarten and school.  Reisian said that the Berio Diocese of the AAC seriously condemns such attitude towards holy places.

Nearly 40 Armenians have already been killed in the civil war in Syria.
