Russia is a key actor in the South Caucasus in security issues and much depends on Russia, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with the newspaper Moscow Times.
"Russia is a big country and Azerbaijan is also its neighbor, therefore Russia couldn't support any of the parties to the conflict like Turkey did," the President said.
He highlighted that Russia is Armenia's ally in the CSTO and in case of resumption of military actions or a serious threat to security of Armenia, Russia has both commitments and possibilities to respond.
"Within CSTO we cooperate actively and with conviction. There are legal grounds for the CSTO members to act jointly. There is such confidence," Sargsyan said.
