On Thursday (21 August), Kyrgyzstan hosted a working group meeting of the CSTO Council of Defence Ministers focused on joint military training and scientific collaboration. The meeting brought together delegations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan to coordinate officer education, joint curricula, and research collaboration across the bloc.
The event was opened with a military-scientific conference in Bishkek, followed by a working session in Issyk-Kul, drawing participation from military education specialists, defence officials, and independent experts across CSTO member states.
Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Defence Minister, Erlis Terdikbaev, described the conference as a vital platform for exchanging ideas on improving military education and scientific research within the CSTO. Member countries engaged in dialogues covering personnel training systems, educational methods, and research priorities essential for strengthening collective defence cooperation.
