The Ministry of Defense in Azerbaijan announced that units of the army have entered the Lachin region, in the early hours of the morning. Lachin is the third and last of the territories handed over by Armenia after the withdrawal of its forces in accordance with the Armenia-Azerbaijan-Russia agreement signed on 10 November.

Under the 10 November agreement Russian troops will now patrol the strategic Lachin corridor that connects Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh.
