Guido Westerwelle:

Berlin is concerned about peaceful resolving of the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict, Foreign Minister of Germany Guido Westerwelle said at the joint press-conference with Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan in Yerevan, Friday.

He also said that Germany is for the balance in the principles of territorial integrity and the right of peoples for self-determination, and added that the status-quo in the NKR cannot be long-lasting and peaceful settlement will bring dividends to everybody in the region, including Armenia.

For his part, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan said that Armenia has always come forward for peaceful settlement of the conflict and has never hindered progress in the NKR settlement. "The
OSCE MG's and, in particular, Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev's contribution in the NKR settlement process is great. But all the efforts of the Armenian party and the co-chairs are in vain as the Azerbaijani party puts new obstacle on the way of the Karabakh conflict settlement from time to time", - Nalbandyan said.

He also added that the Azerbaijani authorities have been conducting the contradictory policy, and very often the statements by the president and other officials contradict each other. "During the last Sochi meeting presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan said they are satisfied with the work of the OSCE MG co-chairmen. Nevertheless, some criticizing statements regarding the co-chairmen were made in Baku", - Nalbandyan said.
