ArmInfo: USA calls upon parties to Karabakh conflict to refrain from the use, or threat of the use of force

Yerevan, April 9. ArmInfo.

The U.S. remains deeply committed to working with the sides to achieve a peaceful settlement to the conflict and calls upon all parties to refrain from the use, or threat of the use of force, Patrick Ventrell, a representative of the U.S. Department of State said at a press briefing at the State Department.

Commenting at the request of an Azerbaijani television journalist on the meeting of Secretary of State John Kerry and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu wherein the parties discussed the issue of 'occupied territory of Azerbaijan' according to the Turkish party, Patrick Ventrell said: "Just to say that -- again I'm not aware exactly in what context that might have come up in the secretary's visit to Turkey, but to reiterate, the U.S. and you know we're a co-chair of theMinsk Group, we remain deeply committed to working with the sides to achieve a peaceful settlement to the conflict. So, we believe the use of force will not resolve the conflict, and we call upon all parties to refrain from the use, or threat of the use of force. I don't have any more information about what context it may have come up in the secretary's diplomacy in Turkey."
