Существующая версия  шести базовых принципов карабахского урегулирования является справедливой и сбалансированной, и мы бы хотели, чтобы стороны приняли его во время предстоящего в Казани саммита. Об этом накануне заявил американский сопредседатель МГ ОБСЕ Роберт Брадке, в ходе своего выступления на слушаниях по ситуации в Нагорном Карабахе в Комитете по международным делам Европейского парламента. 

Брадке обратил внимание на значение мирного урегулирования конфликта, указав также на активизацию роли ЕС в процессе реализации мирного договора.

"На данном этапе Минской группе удалось сделать самое важное: пресечь войну и доказать свою эффективность. Но на нынешнем этапе, когда мы пытаемся продвигать процесс вперед, на мой взгляд, повышается роль Евросоюза, который может предпринять существенные шаги для укрепления доверия между сторонами", - сказал он.

Clashes continued on Saturday morning (26 July), on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, as the two ASEAN countries resort to military means to resolve a border dispute between them that has been festering for over a hundred years. Casualties are reported on both sides, involving both civilians and military personnel, and the number of civilians displaced has already reached nearly 150,000. Thailand said its navy joined the army in repelling Cambodian attacks, in a sign that the conflict is expanding. The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting on Friday to discuss the conflict.
