На конференции в Оксфорде обсудят процесс урегулирования карабахского конфликта.

Ученые из ряда европейских университетов и исследовательских центров, дипломаты и специалисты-практики, а также активисты, представляющие заинтересованные стороны в процессе урегулирования нагорно-карабахского конфликта собираются в Оксфорде на конференции на тему "Влияние международных и региональных событий на процесс урегулирования конфликта вокруг Нагорного-Карабаха". Организаторами Конференции выступили LINKS (Диалог, анализ и исследования) и Центр исследований России и Евразии, в колледже Святого Антония Оксфордского университета, которая состоится во вторник, 11 ноября.

В период повышенной глобальной напряженности, и в то время, когда Европа сталкивается с некоторыми из самых больших вызов для мира и безопасности с момента окончания холодной войны, усилия по мирному урегулированию нагорно-карабахского конфликта все больше переплетаются  с другими региональными и международными вопросами. В то же время,  события последних нескольких недель показали, что конфликт продолжает  уносить жизни многих армян и азербайджанцев в инцидентах на линии соприкосновения, напоминая нам, что этот конфликт остается серьезной угрозой для мира и процветания на Кавказе и Европы. Это также негативно сказывается на сотни тысячах людей с обеих сторон конфликта.

На конференции проанализируют текущую ситуацию, и обсудят, что же еще  может быть сделано в целях продвижения мирного процесса.

Исполнительный директор LINKS Деннис Саммут, сообщил commonspace.eu, что конференция предоставляет пространство для анализа того, что получилось, и чего же не хватает в процессе урегулирования карабахского конфликта, и как новые реалий, которая Европа переживает повлияет на будущее. "Конференция призывает заглянуть в будущее, но мы неизбежно должны извлечь уроки из прошлого. В связи с этим тот факт, что конференция проводится 11 ноября, в день, когда мы в Британии вспоминаем павших в двух мировых войнах и в других конфликтах, несет в себе много символики даже для участников конференции. Говоря о нагорно-карабахском конфликте, мы никогда не должны упускать из виду тот факт, что конфликт унес жизни многих людей, особенно много молодежи, и продолжает делать это. Мы в долгу перед ними и поэтому должны работать над разрешением этого конфликта и над избавлением региона от этой самой сложной проблемы", сказал Деннис Саммут

Germany accuses Russia of cyberattacks and disinformation campaign

The German government holds Russia responsible for a cyberattack on German air traffic control, and for targeted disinformation campaigns before the last federal election. According to the German Foreign Office in Berlin, the incidents could be clearly attributed to the Russian military intelligence service, the GRU. In response, the Russian ambassador to Berlin was summoned to the Foreign Ministry. "We have been observing a massive increase in threatening hybrid activities by Russia for some time now," a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry stated. These range from disinformation campaigns and espionage to cyberattacks and sabotage attempts. The aim is to divide society, sow distrust, and undermine confidence in democratic institutions. The spokesperson added that with these actions, Russia is "very concretely threatening our security, not only through its war of aggression against Ukraine, but also here in Germany."  The Foreign Ministry spokesperson explained that the cyberattack on air traffic control in August 2024 was clearly attributed to the hacker collective "APT28," known as "Fancy Bear," and to the responsibility of the Russian military intelligence service, the GRU. Furthermore, it could now be "conclusively stated" that Russia had attempted "to influence and destabilize both the last Federal election and the ongoing internal affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany." There was "absolutely irrefutable evidence" for this". The so-called "Storm 1516" campaign, which has been running since 2024, is allegedly backed by "reliable information" that the Moscow-based think tank "Center for Geopolitical Expertise" is behind it. The Center is also said to be supported by Russian military intelligence. Its primary aim is to influence democratic elections in the West. (Click the image to read more).
