Хефферн: Вашингтон ожидает от Баку и Будапешта объяснений в связи с экстрадицией и помилованием азербайджанского убийцы

Вашингтон ожидает объяснений от Баку по факту экстрадиции и помилования убийцы армянского офицера Гургена Маркаряна Рамиля Сафарова. Об этом заявил посол США в Армении Джон Хефферн во время церемонии подписания соглашения по продолжению сотрудничества с Генеральной прокуратурой Армении.

При этом посол напомнил, что Вашингтон сразу выразил свою озабоченность по этому поводу. <Хочу вновь подчеркнуть, что США, как сопредседательствующая в Минской группе ОБСЕ страна, выступает против любых действий, которые могут пошатнуть хрупкий мир в регионе. Мы ожидаем объяснений от Будапешта и Баку и будем последовательными в направлении их получения> - заявил посол.

Отметим, что ранее Вашингтон выразил свою глубокую озабоченность в связи с экстрадицией из Венгрии и помилованием в Азербайджане убийцы армянского офицера Гургена Маркаряна Рамиля Сафарова, который венгерским судом был приговорен к пожизненному заключению.
