Карабахские армяне отмечают День независимости.

Президент Армении Серж Саргсян вместе с лидером самопровозглашенной Нагорно-Карабахской Республики принял участие в церемониях, посвященных 23-й годовщине с момента объявления армянами Карабаха о своей независимости.

Во вторник Саргсян посетил Степанакертский мемориал и почтил память армян, погибших в ходе конфликта, который последовал за провозглашением независимости. Он также возложил цветы на могилы Артура Мкртчяна, который являлся первым председателем Верховного Совета НКР, и других армян, погибших в ходе карабахской войны.

Саргсяна сопровождали местные чиновники, в том числе президент НКР, Бако Саакян, а также гости из за рубежа.
