Генсек ООН отмечает необходимость скорейшего урегулирования Нагорно-Карабахского конфликта

Совершающий рабочий визит в США министр иностранных дел Азербайджана Эльмар Мамедъяров встретился накануне с генеральным секретарем Организации Объединенных Наций Пан Ги Муном.

Об этом 1news.az сообщает со ссылкой на пресс-службу МИД Азербайджана.

Генсек ООН высоко оценил складывающееся между ООН и Азербайджаном сотрудничество.

В свою очередь, Э.Мамедъяров передал генсеку ООН приветствие Президента Азербайджана Ильхама Алиева. Затем глава МИД проинформировал Пан Ги Муна о ходе переговорного процесса по мирному урегулированию армяно-азербайджанского, Нагорно-Карабахского конфликта.

Генсек ООН подчеркнул необходимость скорейшего мирного урегулирования конфликта, отметив ожидания результатов в этом направлении.

Э.Мамедъяров довел до внимания своего собеседника информацию о том, что на намеченных на октябрь текущего года выборах непостоянных членов в Совете Безопасности ООН в 2012-2013 годах выдвинута также и кандидатура Азербайджана, отметив ощутимые выгоды в этой связи.
