Генпрокурор Южной Осетии погиб в результате ДТП

Как сообщает Министерство внутренних дел, генпрокурор Южной Осетии погиб в результате ДТП, обстоятельства которого не вызывают подозрений у правоохранительных органов.

Мераб Чигоев, возглавлял прокуратуру с апреля 2012 года, в период между 1998 и 2001 был премьер-министром, и министром юстиции в период между 2004 и 2008 годов.

Как сообщили власти, 9 января при пересечении улицы в городе Цхинвали его сбил автомобиль.

"Я беру на личный контроль расследование этого преступления. Хотя, что тут еще говорить, преступление практически раскрыто." заявил лидер Южной Осетии Леонид Тибилов, как сообщает civil.ge.

"А виновник должен понести наказание со всей строгостью закона."

Чигоев подходил к своей машине после свадьбы, когда проезжающий мимо автомобиль сбил его насмерть.

Согласно сообщениям очевидцев, водитель, который находился под воздействием алкоголя, был задержан на месте происшествия.
