Верховный лидер Ирана Хаменеи открыл 16-й саммит движения неприсоединения.

Верховный лидер Ирана аятолла Али Хаменеи открыл 16-й саммит Движения неприсоединения, проходящий в Тегеране. Иранское информационное агентство IRNA сообщает, что Хаменеи прибыл на саммит в сопровождении президента Ирана Ахмадинежада и председателя Совета по целесообразности Рафсанджани.

Делегации из ста стран, в том числе включающие в себя глав государств, находятся в Тегеран для участия в саммите. Среди участников Генеральный секретарь Организации Объединенных Наций Пан Ги Мун, президент Египта Мухаммед Мурси, эмир Катара шейх Хамад бин Халифа Аль-Тани, президент Пакистана Юсуф Али Зардари и президент Ливана Мишель Сулейман. Среди присутствующих есть делегаций из Армении и Азербайджана, и во главе с их министрами иностранных дел. Президент Армении Серж Саргсян не поехал на саммит, как об этом было объявлено ранее в армянских СМИ.

Иран по окончанию саммита примет на себя председательство Движением неприсоединения на трехлетний срок. Движение было создано в 1961 году по инициативе Югославии для объединения стран, которые не являются частью какого-либо военного блока.

At least 33 soldiers and civilians have been killed while thousands of Thai and Cambodian nationals have been displaced since border fighting broke out on 24 July.
