НАТО готовится ко второй волне коронавируса

НАТО хочет быть готовым ко второй волне короны. Оборонный альянс уже принимал участие в борьбе с пандемией в мае.

НАТО готовится к возможному ухудшению ситуации с пандемией. "НАТО готовится ко второй возможной волне коронавируса", - заявил генеральный секретарь альянса Йенс Столтенберг в интервью, опубликованном сегодня утром в немецкой газете WELT AM SONNTAG.

Цель состоит в том, чтобы действовать "скоординированно" в борьбе с вирусом. "Нам необходимо координировать наши планы, чтобы члены НАТО и страны-партнеры, которые тесно связаны с альянсом, могли лучше и быстрее помогать в борьбе с коронавирусом", - заявил бывший премьер-министр Норвегии.

Вскоре планы будут доработаны и представлены министрам обороны Североатлантического союза на их виртуальной встрече в середине июня.

Силы НАТО совершили более 100 миссий для поддержки союзников и партнеров НАТО только в середине мая, в ходе которых они перевозили срочно необходимый медицинский персонал и оказывали услуги скорой помощи, отправляли полевые больницы и тонны защитных материалов.
