Глава ПАСЕ провел совместную встречу с руководителями делегаций Азербайджана и Армении

Сегодня в рамках осенней сессии Парламентской Ассамблеи Совета Европы (ПАСЕ) состоялась встреча руководителей делегаций Азербайджана и Армении.

Как передает корреспондент АПА в ПАСЕ, встреча состоялась при участии председателя ПАСЕ Жан-Клод Миньона.  На встрече с азербайджанской стороны был председатель делегации Самед Сеидов, с армянской глава делегации Армении Давид Арутунян. Так же принял участие руководитель подкомитета ПАСЕ по карабахскому конфликту, испанский парламентарий Йорди Чукла-и-Коста. Стороны отказались сообщить, какие вопросы были темой встречи. Отметим, что данная встреча была организована по инициативе председателя ПАСЕ Жан-Клода Миньона, после того как на заседании ПАСЕ Самед Сеидов предложил провести обсуждения карабахского вопроса на заседании ассамблеи.

Transparency International condemns censorship of TV channels and intimidation of critical media in Georgia

Transparency International has denounced censorship conducted by the ruling party of Georgia including attempts to intimidate critical media and suppress independent journalism in Georgia and called  for international support to defend Georgian democracy and media freedom. In a statement released on 4th June, Transparency International said independent media in Georgia must be able to ask critical questions and demand answers from the government and noted that the legal intimidation of critical broadcasters is in direct contradiction to both the Georgian Constitution and the country’s international obligations.
