Религиозные лидеры Армении рассмотрели актуальные вопросы

Католикос Армении Гарегин II вчера провел заседание армянского Верховного Духовного Совета в ходе которой были обсуждены ряд текущих вопросов в Санкт-Эчмиадзин.

Согласно сообщениям News.am Верховный Духовный Совет заслушал доклад главы Армянской епархии в Грузии, епископа Мирзаханяна о состоянии армянских святилищ в Грузии. Совет также обсудил "антиармянские сообщения, представляющие события в Ходжале с неправильной перспективы".

Армянская церковь играет важную роль в жизни армянского общества и обсуждения в рамках Высшего духовного совета часто отражают проблемы в Армении и в более широких масштабах, в рамках сообщества армянской диаспоры по всему миру.

Fighting continues on Thailand-Cambodia border on Saturday morning with 150000 civilians already displaced

Clashes continued on Saturday morning (26 July), on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, as the two ASEAN countries resort to military means to resolve a border dispute between them that has been festering for over a hundred years. Casualties are reported on both sides, involving both civilians and military personnel, and the number of civilians displaced has already reached nearly 150,000. Thailand said its navy joined the army in repelling Cambodian attacks, in a sign that the conflict is expanding. The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting on Friday to discuss the conflict.
