Спецпред генсека НАТО:

Военного решения нагорно-карабахского конфликта не существует. Об это в интервью АрмИнфо заявил спецпред генсека НАТО на Кавказе и Центральной Азии Джеймс Аппатурай по итогам своего визита в Азербайджан и Армению.

По его словам, возобновление насилия приведет к поражению всех сторон. "Я полагаю, что большинство людей в регионе осознают это. Я убежден в том, что НАТО продолжит поддерживать усилия сопредседателей Минской группы ОБСЕ", - заявил Аппатурай.

Говоря об усилившейся военной риторике Баку, спецпред генсека НАТО заявил, что в ходе визита в Баку он выслушал мнение президента Азербайджана Ильхама Алиева о ситуации в Нагорном Карабахе, а также о зашедшем в тупик мирном процессе. "Они подтвердили приверженность Азербайджана поиску мирного решения конфликта в Нагорном Карабахе", - резюмировал Аппатурай.

Turkey is negotiating with Qatar and Oman to acquire used Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets as part of its effort to bolster its air force capabilities. Following a three-day tour of Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman last week in which he oversaw the signing of several agreements, including in the defense sector, President  Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey aims to purchase dozens of Eurofighters and other advanced jets as a stopgap measure to strengthen its fleet until its domestically developed fifth-generation KAAN fighter jet becomes operational.
