Министр иностранных дел Турции Ахмет Давутоглу завершил двухдневный визит в Иран. Выступая на пресс-конференции со своим иранским коллегой Али Акбар Салехи, Давутоглу сказал, что Турция доставила послание Запада Тегерану о возобновлении переговоров по её ядерной программе. Он выразил надежду что переговоры, которые прекратились год назад, вскоре могут быть возобновлены. Давутоглу сказал, что Салехи "ответил тем же" на "готовность со стороны Запада возобновить переговоры", которое он доставил. "Мы ждем хороших результатов исходящих из желания двух сторон вернуться за стол переговоров", сказал Давутоглу на пресс-конференции.

Салехи подтвердил, что Иран готов вернуться к переговорам с постоянными членами Совета Безопасности ООН и Германией (P5 +1) во время и в месте, согласованном обеими сторонами. Он сказал, что глава ЕС по внешней политике Кэтрин Эштон, возглавляющая делегацию P5 +1, предложила Турцию в качестве места переговоров и что Анкара согласилась на это. "Лично я считаю, что Турция является лучшим местом для проведения переговоров", сказал Салехи.
