Совет Безопасности ООН обсудит пандемию

Девять стран Совета Безопасности ООН обратились с просьбой о проведении онлайн-встречи для обсуждения влияния пандемии коронавируса на все вопросы повестки дня СБ ООН, говорится в сообщении российского информационного агентства ТАСС со ссылкой на дипломатические источники.

"Девять непостоянных членов Совета Безопасности (Бельгия, Доминиканская Республика, Вьетнам, Германия, Индонезия, Нигер, Сент-Винсент и Гренадины, Тунис и Эстония) обратились с просьбой о проведении такой встречи", - сказал дипломат. "Дата встречи пока не определена. Ожидается, что она пройдет в закрытом формате, и в ней примет участие генеральный секретарь ООН", - отметил дипломат.

Такая встреча откладывалась уже долгое время, поскольку вопрос о пандемии не входит в повестку дня Совета Безопасности. Однако сейчас страны считают целесообразным обсудить влияние пандемии на вопросы, контролируемые Советом Безопасности. В частности, это предложения Генерального секретаря ООН об ослаблении санкций против некоторых стран, прекращении огня, а также гуманитарной помощи и воздействии пандемии на миссии по поддержанию мира.
