Российские военные проводят учения на Южном и Северном Кавказе

Российские войска приступили к проведению военных учении в сепаратистской Южнай Осетии, а также на Северном Кавказе.

Более 2000 солдат задействованы в учениях на военном полигоне Дзарцеми, к северу от Цхинвали, столицы Южной Осетии, сообщают 13 января правительственные источники.

В учениях в Южной Осетии задействованы около 500 единиц военной техники, в том числе танки, боевые машины пехоты и самоходные гаубицы.

Как сообщалось ранее Министерством обороны, в течение 2015 года дислацированные в Цхинвальском регионе российские подразделения получили различные виды военной и специальной техники, в том числе, ракетные комплексы "Искандер", дальность поражения которых составляет 500 километров.

15 января российские военные силы также сообщили о проведении учений с использованием комплекса "Искандер-М" на полигоне Капустин Яр в Российской Федерации, что в 1000 км к северу от Тбилиси.

Южная Осетия находится де-факто вне юрисдикции центральных властей Грузии с 1992 года.

Однако, после короткой, но кровопролитной войны в августе 2008 года российские войска были размещены в Южной Осетии, также как и в более крупной и более населенной Абхазии.
