Эрдоган: Турция откроет все архивы; призывает Армению сделать то же самое.

Президент Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган заявил, что Турция откроет все свои архивы, чтобы историки смогли изучить события 1915 года, и призвал Армению и другие страны сделать то же самое.

В своем выступлении на саммите мира, организованном по случаю 100-летия битвы Чанаккале, президент Эрдоган сказал: "ЕС советует нам открыть наши архивы, я всегда говорил, что мы готовы открыть наши архивы, которые содержат почти миллион документов. Я говорю, что и Армения должна открыть свои архивы. Если у третьих стран имеются соответствующие архивы, они тоже должны открыть их. Мы также готовы открыть и наши военные архивы".

Президент Турции также вспомнил погибших в Галлиполи в 1915 году. Он сказал: "Почти полмиллиона людей разных национальностей были ранены или убиты в столкновениях или погибли из-за болезней во время битвы Чанаккале. Я с уважением чту память их всех".

The talks come the day after both attended a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the nearby Chinese city of Tianjin, and the day before a grand Chinese military parade in Beijing to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
