АрмИнфо: Официальный Брюссель вновь предупреждает Армению

Официальный Брюссель вновь предупреждает Армению, что невозможно совместить участие в инициированном Россией Таможенном союзе с соглашением о зоне свободной торговли с Евросоюзом.  Об этом в эксклюзивном интервью Радио Азатутюн заявил председатель комиссии по внешним отношениям Европейского парламента, зампредседателя Европейской народной партии Эльмар Брок.

Он отметил, что эти два соглашения противоречат друг другу юридически. "Евросоюз не может подписать договор о глубокой и всеобъемлющей свободной торговле со страной, которая является членом инициированного Россией Таможенного союза. Юридически это не возможно. Необходимо сделать выбор, и такой выбор должна сделать не только Армения, но и другие государства-члены <Восточного партнерства>, которые также стремятся к присоединению к зоне свободной торговли, предложенной Европейским Союзом", - заявил высокопоставленный представитель Европарламента.

На вопрос, а что если Армения, тем не менее, решит присоединиться к Таможенному союзу инициированному Россией, Эльмар Брок отметил: "В этом случае отношения ЕС с этой страной будут такими же, как с Россией".
