Бывший президент Армении Роберт Кочарян обвиняется в нарушении конституционного порядка

Власти Армении предъявили обвинения в адрес бывшего президента Роберта Кочаряна, обвинив его в нарушении конституционного порядка и в нарушении статьи 300.1 части 1 Уголовного кодекса. Обвинения связаны с инцидентами, произошедшими в 2008 году, когда правительственные силы жестоко разогнали массовые протесты против фальсификации выборов после президентские выборы, на которых победа досталась Сержу Саргсяну. Роберт Кочарян был уходящим президентом, и инциденты произошли в срок его правления. Также обвинения предъявленны ряду старших должностных лиц вооруженных сил и сил безопасности. Кочарян занимал пост президента Армении с 1998 по 2008 год. Сегодня утром суд рассматривает решение о принятии ходатайства об аресте Роберта Кочаряна Службы государственной безопасности Армении о заключении Кочаряна под стражу до предварительного следствия.
