Президент Армении:

Руководство Турции когда-нибудь сможет найти в себе силы и переосмыслить подход к вопросу геноцида армян 1915 года. Об этом заявил президент Армении Серж Саргсян на встрече с армянской общиной Марселя, говорится в сообщении пресс-службы главы армянского государства.

По его словам, Армения готова установить с Турцией отношения, как подобает соседним государствам. "Мы уверены, что Турция должна покаяться. Это не предусловие и не тяга к мщению. Когда-нибудь руководство Турции сможет найти в себе силы и переосмыслить подход к вопросу Геноцида армян. Наша позиция ясна и неизменна: мы готовы установить с Турцией отношения, как подобает соседним государствам", - сказал президент, приведя пример Германии, покаившейся за Холокост евреев. "Рано или поздно Турция, считающая себя европейским государством, будет иметь соответствующее Европе правительство, которое склонит голову в Цицернакаберде", - сказал Саргсян.
