Президент Армении:

К сожалению, мы не можем сейчас зафиксировать каких- либо изменений в процессе урегулирования нагорного-карабахского конфликта, однако статус Арцаха, как независимой республики никогда не понизится. Об этом заявил сегодня президент Армении Серж Саргсян в ходе приема в Нью-Йорке, организованного посольством Армении в США, представительством в ООН и другими армяно- американскими организациями. 

 По словам президента, однако, нельзя сказать, что эти переговоры не продуктивны, однако казанская встреча наглядно продемонстрировала, насколько Азербайджан отличается конструктивностью, точнее - ее отсутствием. Он отметил, что цель Армении заключается в международном признании Нагорного-Карабахской Республики как независимого государства, в том числе признания со стороны Азербаджана, исключив при этом односторонние необоснованные уступки со стороны Армении.  "Пока Азербайджан не перестал угрожать применением силы, и пока в Азербайджане насаждается антиармянская пропаганда, говорить о реальном прогрессе очень сложно", - сказал президент.

Коснувись вопроса нормализации армяно-турецких отношений, он отметил, что несмотря на результаты, армяно-турецкий процесс был инициирован вовремя, поскольку Армения достигла нового уровня международного авторитета. И наоборот, выявило неспособность Турции посмотреть правде в глаза.

Sarkozy’s lawyers said a request for release has been immediately filed. He was convicted last month for criminal conspiracy in a scheme to finance his 2007 election campaign with funds from Libya.
