ЧЕМПИОНАТ МИРА ПО БОКСУ В БАКУ. Армения среди 113 стран-участниц.

Президент Азербайджана Ильхам Алиев привел почетных гостей на церемонию открытия 16-го чемпионата мира по боксу в  спортивном комплексе имени Гейдара Алиева в столице Азербайджана, Баку. 570 боксеров из 113 стран принимают участие в событии которое продлится до 8 октября, на котором спортсмены также будут бороться за лицензии на Олимпийские игры 2012 года в Лондоне

Министр молодежи и спорта Азербайджана Азад Рагимов, президент Международной ассоциации бокса (AIBA) Чинг-Куо Ву и президент Федерации бокса Азербайджана, Камаледдином Гейдаров, выступили на церемонии открытия, заявили о важности чемпионата и пожелали успехов боксерам.

Между тем, News.am сообщил, что сборная Армении по боксу прибыла в Баку для участия в чемпионатах. Они прибыли в пятницу вместе со сборной России.
