АрмИнфо: Глава МИД Армении подтвердил решимость властей провести президентские выборы в соответствии с международными стандартами.

Глава МИД Армении Эдвард Налбандян на состоявшейся 10 января встрече с делегацией наблюдателей от БДИПЧ ОБСЕ во главе с Хейди Тальявини подтвердил решимость властей Армении провести назначенные на 18 февраля президентские выборы в соответствии с международными стандартами.

Как сообщили АрмИнфо в пресс-службе МИД, министр положительно оценил сотрудничество между Арменией и БДИПЧ ОБСЕ, поблагодарив ее за содействие, оказанное совершенствованию избирательных процессов в Армении. Министр в этой связи выделил новый Избирательный кодекс, удостоившийся одобрения Венецианской комиссии.

В свою очередь Тальявини поблагодарив Налбандяна за приглашение осуществить наблюдательскую миссию, заверила его в беспристрастности миссии. Дипломат сообщила собеседнику о скором прибытии в Армению долгосрочных наблюдателей от БДИПЧ ОБСЕ. По ее словам, после этого миссия в составе 24 долгосрочных и 250 краткосрочных наблюдателей начнет работу в полном объеме.

Russian President Vladimir Putin  remains focused on the "near abroad". Tomorrow and on Monday (21-22 December) Putin will attend a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and an informal meeting of CIS leaders in St. Petersburg. The Kremlin press service reported that during the EAEU meeting, the leaders plan to discuss current issues related to the EAEU's activities, outline guidelines for further deepening integration processes and developing the Union's single market, and approve a number of significant documents and decisions. Furthermore, at Vladimir Putin's initiative, the traditional informal meeting of the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States will take place in St. Petersburg on December 22. The Russian President will also hold bilateral discussions with the leaders of a number of countries.
