Посол Швейцарии в Армении:

“Мы убеждены, что должно быть сделано все возможное, чтобы путь диалога и сотрудничества, который Армения и Турция наметили в последние годы, продолжился”, - заявил в интервью АрмИнфо посол Швейцарии в Армении Константин Оболенский (Konstantin Obolensky).

Говоря о том, что стороны проявили большую долю храбрости для налаживания диалога, посол подчеркнул: “Мы надеемся, что процесс нормализации между двумя странами будет продолжен. Швейцария готова поддерживать этот процесс.

Кроме того, говоря о роли Швейцарии в конфликте между Россией и Грузией, посол отметил, что Швейцария участвуем в Женевских переговорах не напрямую. Он напомнил, что переговоры проходят под эгидой ООН, ЕС, ОБСЕ и США. “Это именно тот формат, в котором обсуждается возможное мирное урегулирование проблемы. Швейцария, однако, представляла интересы Грузии в России и наоборот, тогда, когда страны прервали свои отношения в сентябре 2008 года. Основная причина мандата страны-покровительницы – это гарантировать коммуникацию на дипломатическом уровне между Россией и Грузией”, - отметил посол.
